When you meet Prima Jacob, you quickly see the kind of person the business is named after. For over 30 years, he’s been the know-how behind Prima Painting Inc. He’s more than a painter or a business founder—he’s someone who values quality work that his clients can trust.
What started out as a way to provide for his family has grown into something bigger: a business that takes care of employees, serves countless clients, and has built a reputation for quality work done the right way. Through it all, Prima has kept to one simple rule: Always give your client your best quality work, success will follow.
There’s a story from the early days that sums him up perfectly. One Canada Day, Prima and Tami were working late to finish a project on time. Just before midnight, they stepped out onto the balcony with their little son Reese to catch the fireworks over downtown Edmonton. They stood together, Reese in his Dad's arms, while the sky lit up. It was one of those small but unforgettable moments—a reminder that Prima’s drive to work hard has always been about family first, and about making sure the people around him are cared for.
If you know Prima, you know he’s as generous as he is hardworking. He’s the kind of person who will stop what he’s doing to help out, or go the extra mile for a client just because it’s the right thing to do. One of the ways his kindness shows up is in the kitchen—he loves cooking for the people he cares about. For him, sharing food isn’t just about the meal, it’s a way of saying you matter.
Outside of work, Prima recharges by getting his hands into the soil and spending time outdoors. His yard is full of flowers, trees, and little touches that make it a place of peace. And when he’s not at home, you might find him camping, fishing, or hunting. His phone is loaded with photos of skies, animals, and blossoms—snapshots of the beauty he notices everywhere he goes.
For all his dedication, Prima isn’t all seriousness. He loves a good joke and he’s got a way of making people feel included. Many times he is the first one to approach someone who might feel left out at a gathering just to say "Hello".
After decades of honing his craft, Prima has built a company that the clients in Sherwood Park and Edmonton trust. He’s left a (perfectly cut-in) mark on every home and business he’s worked on, and on the people who’ve gotten to know him along the way. For him, painting has always been about more than putting colour on walls. It’s about caring for people, making spaces feel better, and creating something that lasts.
